Star Placement Development:
The initial SVG attempts placed stars outside the canton area. Through iterative prompting, we:
- Adjusted the scale transformation to contain stars within bounds
- Fine-tuned x,y coordinates for proper spacing
- Reduced star size from circles to precise 5-pointed shapes
- Optimized spacing between rows to ensure even distribution
- Corrected bottom row visibility issues by adjusting vertical spacing
Technical Details:
SVG Development:
- Created 16:9 aspect ratio viewport (1600x900)
- Implemented 13 alternating stripes using rect elements
- Added canton (blue rectangle) at correct proportions
- Created 50 five-pointed stars using path data
- Positioned stars in 9 alternating rows (6-5-6-5-6-5-6-5-6)
- Used official colors: # B31942 (red), # 041E42 (blue), # FFFFFF (white)
- Optimized star placement coordinates for proper canton coverage
Conversion Process:
- SVG exported and opened in Pixelmator Pro
- Vector layers automatically preserved
- Imported into Apple Motion as separate manipulatable elements
- Motion project exported as Final Cut Pro plugin
- Plugin now enables drag-and-drop USA flag animation in FCPX
Key technical achievement: Maintained perfect vector scalability throughout the workflow, ensuring crisp edges at any resolution in the final video output.
