Final Cut Pro 10.4, Motion 5.4, and Compressor 4.4 Released by Apple
We have been waiting for the updates ever since they were publicly shown at the FCPX Creative Summit in October. All three video apps get an update today and there's a few things you should know.
Make sure you check out FCP.co's article on the new apps, including a good look the new colour grading tools.
A few things to do before upgrading to the new versions:
- Do not upgrade in the middle of a critical project
- Have you a backup of your boot drive? Has your Time Machine backup run recently?
- Check all extra software such as drivers work or have new versions for 10.4
- Backup all Libraries as 10.4 will modify them and they won't open with 10.3
- Zip up the previous versions of Final Cut Pro, Motion and Compressor and move them out of the Applications folder and store them somewhere safe.
As for Idustrial Revolution plugins, we have briefly tested them with 10.4 and they run fine. However please let us know if you come across any problems.
