Push Final Cut Pro with AI - Controlling Video Clips in a Sequence. Episode 2 - Did it work?
In this video, we demonstrate the power of AI-assisted editing by manipulating Final Cut Pro's XML code to reorganise video sequences.
Here's what we did:
1. Starting with a sequence of 17 video clips in ProRes 422 LT format, we used AI to analyze the duration of each clip in the timeline. Want some cool free & commercial plugins for FCP? https://idustrialrevolution.com
2. We then wrote a completely new XML that reordered all clips from shortest to longest duration, while maintaining: - Original clip properties and metadata - Audio settings and roles - Total sequence duration - Perfect timeline spacing - All project settings (1080p25, 48kHz audio)
3. The sequence transformation maintained every technical detail of the original project while creating a visually dynamic progression from shortest to longest clips: - Shortest clip: MVI_4430 (1.24 seconds) - Through to longest: MVI_4436 (12.64 seconds)
This demonstrates how AI can help editors reorganize complex sequences by manipulating XML code directly, saving hours of manual timeline work. The precision of XML editing ensures that no clip properties are lost during the reorganization.
